CBD and Autism – A Personal Experience

CBD and Autism – A Personal Review

As previously stated in my article, CBD and Autism: Effectiveness, Dosage, and Safety, I am diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder Level One (Asperger’s). The following are the symptoms I experience on a day to day basis that are directly linked to my diagnosis of Autism.

  • Social Anxiety
  • General Anxiety (Typically from overstimulation)
  • Difficulty Processing and Experiencing Change
  • Depression and Self-Abusive Behavior
  • Inability to Connect On an Emotional Level
  • Difficulty Maintaining Eye Contact
  • Hypersensitivity to Sounds and Certain Textures
  • Difficulty Expressing Emotions
  • Gastrointestinal Issues

The medication I have found to be the most effective for treating my ASD is cannabis, specifically the non-psychoactive chemical included in all forms of cannabis naturally – cannabidiol, or CBD. CBD products are typically made from cannabis ruderalis, otherwise known as industrial hemp. CBD has given me the opportunity I so desperately needed for a shot at a so-called “normal” life. CBD has changed my life in the following ways:

  • Increased Ability to Remain Calm
  • Reduced Social Anxiety
  • Reduced General Anxiety
  • Reduction in Depressive and Self-Abusive Behavior
  • Mood Stabilization
  • Reduction in Pain
  • Reduction in GI Issues
  • Reduction in Overstimulation of the Senses

For neurological conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and the typical co-occurring mental illness issues that come along with it, I strongly recommend giving CBD a shot. It is an excellent standalone medication as well as for an addition to your “cocktail” of medications and supplements. It has changed my life and the lives of many other autistic individuals as well.

CBD and Autistic Children

CBD oil is not only safe for adults but kids of all ages as well! Dosages for both children and adults can be found here: CBD for Autism Dosage. There have been cases of autistic children finally speaking after only a few doses of CBD.

Now that you’ve read my personal experiences regarding cannabidiol, check out my more scientific outlook on CBD for Autism here.

None! There are no major pharmaceutical adverse effects from CBD AFAIK. Start dosage small
